The Nautilus 5711 is defined by its distinctive rounded-octagonal case, horizontally embossed dial and integrated stainless steel bracelet. The blue-black graduated dial creates a refined contrast with the stainless steel case and applied hour markers. Patek Philippe's official historical material identifies the Ref. 5711/1A-010 as the blue-black graduated dial version introduced from 2010, following the earlier Ref. 5711/1A-001. The stainless steel 5711/1A was subsequently discontinued, with the final 5711/1A-014 introduced with an olive-green dial in 2021.
